In the State Library today, the following hard work is being done:
- Year twelve exam study.
- Fitful REM sleep beneath school blazers, jumpers, other peoples' pencil cases.
- Bidding on eBay (one gentleman appears to be in search of a phone, another a laptop).
- Discussion in relation to year twelve exams.
- Discussion in relation to OMIGOD SHE TOTALLY DID NOT SAY THAT. TELL ME SHE DIDN'T SAY THAT.
- The tracing of a woman's long lost sister who possibly moved to Sydney in 1923. Seriously.
- A script for a children's TV show. Sort of.
No matter what you're working on, someone in the State Library is working harder and someone in the State Library is not working at all. This is one true statement about life from which I don't think I'll ever back down.
Haha. So true.
And YouTube gets watched a bit in here too.
As for googling Paris for research purposes... I learned a few lessons about internet filters doing that, let me tell you.
Can they screen computers for facebook in the State Library? That would be revealing - if they suddenly put up on a noticeboard what everyone was looking at.
"No I googled Paris Hilton for research purposes, I promise."
My sister is currently half-way through her year 12 exams, and she has never been more interested to hear what I have been up to, never called me so often to "just see how you are going", never been so keen for me to play the next move in Scrabulous.
